Use Media In Your Course
Use media to add images, video, and audio to your course content. Media can be inserted from different parts of the editor. Available file types and options depend on where the media is used.
Where media can be used
Media can be added in several places, including:
- Containers (image, video, and media containers)
- Background images
- Text editor (inline images)
- Exercises (where supported)
- Course or page settings (for example cover images)
Add media to content
To add media to content:
- Open a container or editor that supports media
- Select Insert image, Media, or similar
- Choose a file from the media library Available options depend on the selected container or editor.
File type restrictions
Some areas only support specific file types.
- Image containers and cover images only support image formats
- Video containers only support video formats
- Other areas may support multiple file types
Manage media files
You can manage assets directly in the media library.
- Rename files
- Delete unused media
- Edit images and video

Large files may affect performance, especially on mobile devices.
Keep this in mind when you upload media to the library or use in on pages within the course.
