Introduction
MentorKit LMS Pro is a WordPress plugin for delivering SCORM-based training to your learners. This page gives you a quick overview of the platform's core concepts before you dive in.
MentorKit Course Creator
MentorKit Course Creator is the companion web app where you build your SCORM courses. Once your courses are ready, you publish them directly to your WordPress site through a one-time integration. Course Creator handles course authoring — LMS Pro handles delivery, enrollment, and tracking.
- Connect to MentorKit Course Creator — one-time setup to link Creator to your site
- Publish your first course — push a course from Course Creator to your LMS
Courses
A course is a SCORM package published from Course Creator to your WordPress site. Each course has its own page where learners access the training content, track their progress, and earn a completion status (passed, failed, or incomplete).
Courses can be free, closed (admin-only enrollment), or paid via WooCommerce.
Groups
A group bundles multiple courses together — ideal for onboarding programs, compliance training, or team-based learning. Learners enroll in a group and get access to all its courses at once.
Groups can optionally use sequential progression, requiring learners to complete courses in a specific order.
User Roles
MentorKit adds four roles to WordPress:
| Role | Purpose |
|---|---|
| LMS Manager | Full LMS admin — manages courses, groups, certificates, and users |
| Course Creator | Creates and edits assigned courses |
| Group Leader | Manages enrollments and invites users from the frontend |
| Subscriber | The default learner role — accesses enrolled courses |
Certificates
Courses and groups can issue certificates when learners complete their training. Certificates are generated from customizable templates and can include expiration dates for compliance-driven programs.
Enrollments
Learners can be enrolled in courses and groups through:
- Self-enrollment — learners enroll themselves on free or paid courses/groups
- Admin enrollment — admins manually assign access
- Group enrollment — enrolling in a group grants access to all its courses
- Invitation — admins or group leaders invite new users directly
